Back To A Life Unplanned

Saturday we got our official acceptance letter from the University we applied for. They have all our transcripts from all our other Colleges and Universities and are re-admitting us to their's.
So, it's officially official.

In typical form we already have our classes chosen for our first new Semester. The minute we got the letter with the information we were logging into the University website, and copying over the list of classes we knew we had to to take, and wanted to take, that we had in a spreadsheet, to our account planner. Then picking the first ones to take in the Fall. Classes start the end of August for our first semester. Sometimes we're a giant geek.

When all our credits from various Universities, and Culinary School, got transferred we actually came out on top of the 125 credit requirement for a Bachelor Degree, however...we still have GERs (General Education Requirements - basic modules of study that the University requires in order to grant one a degree) to complete; 12 Science, Math and Tech (with at least 4 of Lab time) credits to fulfill [ICK], 3 credits of English, and 3 credits of World Cultures. Plus 36 credits of Upper Level (300-400) courses. Of course we'll have to meet with our advisor to make double sure...but it does seem right.

Dang. We were so close to having only a year left. We're going back to finish our Degree in Communication, and initially thought we would had three years left anyway, because of the uncertainty of how the credits from the three and a half years at other institutions would transfer, so...*shrugs*. If we pursue the minor in Visual Arts that we want (which we only need 12 additional specific credits for)...well, it's going to take three years.

What else is there to do though, really. The job market is slim without a 4 year degree under your belt, no matter how much work, life and educational experience one has; and because of our back problems our Culinary education is only so handy, not to mention the restaurants in this area pay minimum wage, and we can't justify the pain involved for minimum wage.

Rather than make too much of a long-term plan about what to do after three years and a shiny new degree, we've resolved with James to make a plan, to make a plan...in two and a half. Experience dictates that planning doesn't pan out well, and leads to disappointment and stress. Though there will VERT highly likely be a move involved, since none of us are thrilled with our current geographical location.

In the meantime, back to a life unplanned.
It feels comfortable here.

Life, And Other Plans

Well, I had intended writing something worthwhile this weekend. So far that hasn't been able to happen, for various reasons.

After a couple weeks of trying to get over the heartbreak of losing the purchase of the house and property (Weeping Willow) we've been flailing each day, trying to decide what to do.

It's always been easy to figure out. Just get up and go and let's see what happens.

Despite having been married before, we were never part of the decision making as a couple.
We've been a home-owner before, and have moved all over North America, all on our own, countless times...we have always had an easy time of getting up and going.
But now we have James to consider. We can't make these decisions on our own anymore. It's harder than we thought it would be, having to make plans with another person in mind, as part of couple.

So, for now, in the attempt to at least move out of Mother's house, we are looking at real estate in the city where we are currently residing. Everything will be on the back-burner for now. Our plans to have a farm, grow a garden, live in the country away from people. Our future.

At least with our own space, our own home again, we can have a studio to paint in, and have more private space/time for writing again. And we can try to get out of the funk we keep falling into.

We start our new job tomorrow, though we will be unemployed by Christmas, at least it's an opportunity to make some extra cash while we house-hunt locally.

We're Just A Bitchy Bitch

We've just been a bitch all weekend.

We're not sure what The Boyfriend/James is writing about tonight for his second post of the day on his blog, but he did mention that it's brutal.

As we explained to him we'd rather it be the brutal painful truth than a comfortable painless lie.

Anybody who knows us knows we are not fond of liars, we've had WAY too many of them trample through our life...all lying does it hurt people more, when the truth finally comes out.

Sure, sparing feelings is different, but our goal of cutting ourselves open and showing the world as much of "our insides", and educating, or ...what's the word for it...showing them what mental illness, specifically this one, looks like; and now with The Boyfriends assistance, the ugly outside; would be a lie if he acted like life with us was easy.

He must have a wish to live a life of torture, because most of us cannot believe that as good, and fun, and loving and hilarious as some of us may be, that the others of us who are far less so, are worth a lifetime (theoretically) of putting up with our bullshit.

We are under a lot of stress, and in a lot of pain, and The Boyfriend/James knows this; we can only hope that when the stress of selling the house (our house, and he's helping us) and packing up our belongings and trekking back to live in The Mothers basement will ease some of our anger, frustration, & childish outbursts.

We know us, and yes, we know are no picnic, but we also know we are better than this.

There is just so much to do in so little time, all we want to roll into a ball, hide under the covers and just get to the part where it's all over, where we have time to re-plan our life, yet again.

Not the greatest post today, we know. We're exhausted. We're frustrated. We didn't want to write a damn thing today, collectively, none of us wanted to write...but those are the rules, our rules, and we try to stick with them...someone here knows why...

Want to read something more interesting?

Some of our writing on this blog we like to promote (consider them highlights), these are those entries since mid-January 2011. There are bits of writing in this blog that we do not actually promote but here are highlights of what we have written so far this year that we want to share. There are some repeated under different subjects because some blog entries deal with more than one subject matter.
