Girl Crush Gets The 411 On Us

This is the second post for here today, Sam started one this afternoon because he was all angry and stuff, so that got posted a couple of hours ago (Sam Gets Angry About Ignorance); but we wanted a second one to tell you about our day! :)
So. Today was a big day for us! As mentioned in previous posts, and in our Tweets, Girl Crush came to work, like she does on Wednesdays, to help us with the days program that we run.

We like Girl Crush a lot, she is a balls-to-the wall kinda gal - who could both put up with a lot of shit, and kick the shit out of you when she's done putting up with it. It's one of the reasons she's got the nickname 'Girl Crush'. Most people think her nickname has some sexual sort of reference, but it doesn't really. (
Not saying at least one of us doesn't crush on her...but that's not me specifically).

We usually have a lot of time to talk to her on Wednesdays and we talk about everything, depending on which of us is around on those days. We talk about old friends, boys/men, food our cats, her cats, art...all sorts of stuff.

Since she had shown interest recently in going out drinking with us we though that she should know about Us; she's the first person since we've "come out" - which is to say since we decided to stop hiding and destroying each others lifes in secret...we didn't really know how to tell her - it's the first time we've have to tell someone who  knows us face-to-face...but we steered the conversation towards Twitter (of which she does not partake) and talking about our followers, the types of things we Tweet, our blog (without sharing details of it).

She felt that Twitter was a big reason why we are so solitary, and so we tried to explain it...but failed.

She's known that we are in love with a married man for awhile, we've never mentioned who he was, but today when we discussed it and talked about how frustrating it was that we were in love with this man, she said the reason we are in love with this man might be because our social circle is so tiny. We had a lot to say about that, a lot to say about why our social circle is so small, and the reasons we think we love him, besides the obvious ones...but where do we start when it comes to telling someone, in person, that we are not the same person every time they talk to us?

We started with giving her the address to this blog, but when we failed to be able to spit the words out, we showed her the banner at the top, because as fabulous People agrees, to come out and tell someone "I have multiple personality disorder" just sounds..."stupid".

"Stupid" because so many people have such a limited amount of knowledge about multiple personality disorder, and "stupid" because...it's hard to explain...and many people don't even believe it exists, so one(s) risk the chance of getting laughed at and ridiculed; and who wants that?

When we told Girl Crush she was totally cool about it, and she said she's known some people who have it, and things similar to it! We were pretty excited that the first person we told from real life took it so well.

She has a lot of questions to ask, some of which we started discussing at work, but then she realized we should talk about some of it outside of work, particularly the "
Fuck Face Situation"...which, by the way, before we could even explain the situation, or say his name, she gave us the "duh, I figured that out right away" response. Great. *shakes head noooo*

Anyway, we just wanted to share a little about Girl Crush, our new fleshie friend...we'll ask her if it's okay if we write about her when we go out for drinks, which will hopefully be this week, because she double checked our number in her phone and even mentioned tomorrow, or Friday!

So, this week something good happened, which we know probably doesn't excite you as much as when something dirty happens, and who knows how you all feel about the bad stuff...

Tootles for now:)

~A bunch of Us (but not Frank or Sam)

-------------------------------------------------------------
For the month of May, Mental Health Awareness Month, we will be posting this at he bottom of each of our entries, to help provide additional information about us, and about Dissociative Identiry Disorder/Multiple Personality Disorder.

10 Things You Should Know About US That MIGHT Surprise YOU:
  1. We used to be a Baptist missionary (yeah, can you fucking believe that shit?!) [we are NOT religious]
  2. We were once married (didn’t last long) [one of our stories talks about him]
  3. We have had nearly 30 physical addresses in 30 years, mostly as an adult (nothing could contain us in the early days) [we actually own a house, but choose not to live in it]
  4. We’ve lived in 2 countries: 1 province and 6-7 different states (running much)
  5. We have lost 120 pounds since the age of 24 (100 of it when we were 24) [and it's close to 140 pounds now)
  6. We have a full time job (well, now it's 32 hours a week - but they actually let us work around the other humans!) [it get's harder everyday, and this is the longest we've ever had a single job since we were 17. We've been there almost a year]
  7. We deal with social anxiety type symptoms every day (and these days we choose not to leave home much, but for going to work) [there are about three people we feel comfortable with being in public with and sometimes we have to be out there alone]
  8. We have multiple “mental illness” diagnoses (doesn't everybody?) [p.s. all misdiagnosed]
  9. We have two beautiful cats, who piss us off every day (but they are special, because they put up with us) [though one of us hates them beyond belief]
  10. We have struggled to survive, over and over, defeating the odds thrown against us (read our stories) [seriously, how are we not dead yet?]
We've copied the stories written here that are specifically about our past (mostly abuse) and moved them to our other blog, called:

Addressing The Issue of Frank: The Origins, History and Life Story of Frank, from "Just Call Me Frank: One Womans Endeavour At Being Frank"
(this blog also contains our artwork/photography - the following links will take you to that blog)

Some of our writing on this blog we like to promote, these are those entries since mid-January 2011. There are bits of writing in this blog that we do not actually promote due to embarrassment over things that some have written - they are here for our own tracking - they are angry, mean, scary things. If you feel like it you can find them on your own. Here are the highlights of what we have written so far this year:
