A Frank Evening with... Fabulous People and The Pup

That's funny. They sound like a crime fighting team, 'Fabulous People and The Pup'. They very well might be, anything is possible these days.
We enjoy company, on occasion, and have gotten very selective about who we let into our world (and apartment). There are only a couple people who have access to our building code, and only one who has a key to our door. We fancy our apartment a fortress, and if we let you in...at this point...it really means something.

We realized that, while we've referenced them, we never really say who Fabulous People are to us. While their identity is confidential, what we can say is that we owe them our life. In the past two months they have sat with The Other Girl while she slowly came undone, and then sat with us when we spun off like a top and ripped our way back into the world, grieved TOG and found our footing (it's still shaky though). They've been our life preserver in a time when we had nobody and needed somebody - our experience with fair-weather friends is extensive - and FP hardly knew TOG, and they didn't even know us. They remain the only people who truly accept us for who we are. No questions asked (but mostly because they don't need to ask).

That's Fabulous People. They are called Fabulous People for a reason; as a side note, Fabulous and Fantastic are two of our favourite words, going back to at least last summer when it was pointed out as a word we used often.

The Pup is a recent edition to our world (strictly a friend), recent, though we seem to remember referencing him at some point in the not-to-distant past, as the target of  "crush" or "destroy" instructions; or some such maniacal direction. We declined then, we decline now. Especially now, given the recent soul killing accusations. We just can't destroy him, he's just a puppy after all; let the world do it's job - our conscious is pounding right out of our temples as it is, without adding a true "innocent" to the list.

It's interesting, our little crime fighting team. The Pup is just a young thing of 21 (or is it 23?) years, 10 years our junior; and Fabulous People are 17 and 40. Despite all of our vast age ranges we get along like, well, like peas and carrots...and onions.  Yeah. Those go well together. (peas and carrots, we are suddenly struck with more memories of our Forrest)

Why The Pup hangs out with us, even after Fabulous People depart for the evening, even after he's seen us be roaring bitches in public; while he listens to our pessimistic angry words, he sits there with that innocent grin. We wonder why he keeps coming around. He makes us sad. He's such a nice boy, a boy we could have liked if we had been different people, if we were unaware of our abiilities. He's on the list of Frank Untouchables, just like Tasty Young Morsel - though increasingly we'd like to bite TYM, just a little...but we know that's just misdirected pent up biting desires...we are in need of sinking our teeth in some flesh.

So, what do Fabulous People and The Pup do when they hang out? Well, we think The Pup spends much of the time confused, because we and Fabulous People tend to reference things he doesn't really know about (mainly anything that has to do with this blog). In addition to lobbing witty banter, the four of us could go on the road with our shtick, we watch food related clips (food porn!) on YouTube, partake in all ranges of conversation, watch movies and eat food lovingly prepared by us.

Tonight we made Fabulous People and The Pup dinner, yummy beef burritos with home made guacamole, and for dessert fruit (strawberries, pineapple, mango, banana) with freshly whipped (with a whisk, blender beaters have gone missing) cream, sweetened with table sugar and flavoured with organic Mexican vanilla. We meant to take pictures, but we didn't. Everyone enjoyed the meal, and everyone laughed when we told The Pup that we were baiting him with food. But just for the his company. We know what we want, after all, we say it enough.

Our entertainment for the evening was the movie Gamer...Frank and I questioned as to whether anybody knew if this movie had been regarded as good by the general public. The general consensus was 'no'.

It was our (Frank and Bitch) assessment that, without the addition of our own Mystery Science Theater 3000-esque team (and all our innuendoism - a word created by The Pup tonight), the movie would have been a flop, save a few scenes; mostly those with car chases involving large machines that ended in mayhem, graphic and frivolous scenes of violence and profuse profanity, and particularily this clip, which is the best use of Frank Sinatra's Under My Skin we have ever encountered:

What can we say, we're a sucker for song and dance, and violence, and evil men, and Michael C Hall (from HBO's Dexter).

Bottom line, an evening with Fabulous People and Frank is a fun time, who wouldn't want to be our fifth wheel?

Distraction #2

While Frank sits here, and we edit our entries, as we tend to do most nights; you wouldn't believe some of the shit she initially writes - outrageous. You think the grammar, partial sentences, and wacky punctuation you find in here are bad, you should see the things she tries to get us to say.

Where was I going? (We find it hard to focus on anything these days...it's where structure is helpful, hard to concentrate with so much uncertainty)

So, we're listening to music, while we edit our recent entry about our two handsome men (*sigh*), AND the fuckers (yeah, that's right) who keep reading my blog even though they know they shouldn't; so if you are still reading (which, I mean, let's face it....you know you shouldn't be) then stop. You got the address through an unintended means, no doubt; and the girl who started this blog no longer exists, so...stop making me want to say mean things passive-aggressively. (Things like: F'ing "puppy" should grow up to be a big dog.) See what I mean?  That was mean.

How uncomfortable are you right now.

Wow.

Uh...maybe I should have Frank listen to some calmer music, or lay off caffeine. You want some tea Frank? We have Chai, your favorite! ...

Back to what we were listening to, (no, I don't have ADD, thanks for asking - clearly it's something else) one of my current favorite bands: Against Me!

Against Me! is an American punk rock band formed in the late 90's and their first studio record deal came to them just under 10 years ago. Frank tends to enjoy their newer stuff, our favorites tending to be some of the midrange chart toppers of the modern rock/alternative variety (in the United States); and  Canadian Top 100. Frank is still hard pressed to find people that know many of the bands she likes, chart toppers or not.

Listening to them got me thinking about their concert south of where I live, which was recently canceled { AGAINST ME! Fargo show cancellation. : Against Me} due to cold weather. (Yes, it gets that cold.)

Thinking about the cancellation made me realize a few things, because I had no clue they were going to perform that close to me (it's only about three and a half hours away!)-  I came to the conclusion that a) I am too far out of the loop [does that mean I am old? Lord, please don't say it's so] AND b) I have no concert buddies (that's what happens when you like music that everyone around you generally thinks sucks).

Not to mention Frank doesn't own wheels to get across the border anyway. I hear you can rent cars...but I think Frank is banned from renting from Hertz after multiple unpaid parking tickets in Berlin last October.

Anywho, they rescheduled for June and Frank is wondering if there will be any tickets left after refunds, if she can finagle a friend to go with her, AND...where the hell is our passport?! In the meantime, we will have to be happy with YouTube and mp3's.

And now.....AGAINST ME!

My favorite Against Me! songs!!! This one....is FaNtAstic! It makes me think of wearing leather and heels...and violence.

This is where most of you will want to stop reading...and listening.
FIRST:

Yeah, yeah... it's not "real" punk. Since when is anything "real"? Doesn't matter - it makes Frank want to dance around the living room in her black lacy bra and panties, Screaming at the top of her lung "Set the world on FIRE!"

SECOND:
Embedding was disabled for this song. The picture is linked to the YouTube page. This used to be Franks alarm clock until about a week ago. Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood by The Animals is what Frank wakes up to these days, and before Thrash Unreal by Against Me!, there was You Can't Always Get What You Want by The Rolling Stones.

THIRD:

In no particular order:

Against Me! - Bamboo Bones found on Rock

There ya have it, if you made it this far...those are the highlights. Hopefully they make it to Winnipeg one day, so we can actually see their concert...seeing any concert would be nice though; I've only seen one in the past couple of years (The Flaming Lips). Frank likes to dance at concerts, and jump around a lot (barring minimal back pain, of course)

Frank is going to try to get more than 4 hours of sleep...she hasn't slept well since last Thursday/Friday when she was all but immovable. Blissfully immovable.

Bringing Frank to Work, Frustration, and Tasty New Characters

Franks in for the long haul, she even insisted on coming to work with me today.

Frank doesn't always have good ideas. (think: a bring-your-daughter to work day kind of disaster, if your daughter is an insane reflection of yourself)
-----------------------------------------------------
Highly distracted and keyed up on...life? Frank and I embarked on an adventurous day at work ("I'm not even supposed to be here today").  We had a fun day, even though we probably drove people nuts - together we are a LOUD, unstoppable force.

Spending some one-on-one time with Frank, (door closed and classical music to bring us back to earth), got us chatting via some inner-dialog; something The Other Girl has a hard time doing without Franks control; generally resulting in the spewing forth of everything that comes into her mind, out into the vast space that surrounds her. The Other Girl, she's just has no self-control - you step out for two minutes and she creates disasters.

Turns out, while TOG ("The Other Girl") may like Standby; Frank is set on destroying what they have.  Overnight rendezvous' with Standby have become increasingly...disappointing (unless we insert a little FaNtAstic fantasy); and don't let us forget the irrationality of sharing a bed with a cuddler. For fucks sake, there is a time limit (I like to think under 5 minutes us acceptable...but that's the high end), then you go to your corner, and I go to mine. That's (one of the reasons) why I have a king sized bed. There is a time and place for the cuddling (TOG likes the cuddling more than I do), and there is a lot of time for snuggles, cuddles, and other affection - outside of the bed. Frank is a little particular.
Funny conversation interjection here, to give a glimpse of what it's be like to share a bed with Frank:
Seeing as we, Frank and I, get up early in the morning, Franks not always in the mood for that third go around (yes, third, sometimes more, Frank loves a good marathon) before bed.
So, when Standby inquired about the next session, Frank explained to him that we were tired, but: "If you need to 'help yourself out' in the middle of the night you can just cum on me while I sleep.  Just make sure you clean me off before I wake up ...and try not to get it on the sheets."
He got a good laugh, but Frank was dead serious.
Anyway. You can't believe I wrote that (and, yes, I actually said it) - but you are the one reading it - think about that.
What was once the BEST I ever had is now, sadly, taking back seat to knowing what Frank and I could be having; at the very least on a physical level (I've told that girl she can't have that one, no matter how much she might want him...still, she remains, hopelessly, devoted). Can't blame her really, we both really like him, he is pretty FaNtAstic...she's just more irrational about it than I am - even though we'd both do anything he asked (and we think we've nearly proven that). Such is the nature of a submissive (especially this one). Good thing he doesn't know how much control he could actually have (strange, since he clearly knows what he's doing), but to what end?

The Other Girl (who, by the way, contains almost all the characteristics that Frank didn't/doesn't want) is doing aces on getting us to stop smoking. Even if she is using her own warped reasoning/logic for doing it.  She wasn't told to, but sometimes she does things because she thinks it's what we need, and whatever reasoning she can come up with, she uses - I let her take control of some stuff - but not to much, that's how we started smoking again, and that's how we get ourselves tied up in crazy shit (mmm, tied up).

She insists, as she explained to me, that we should be the best we can be for him, even if he doesn't know it, doesn't ask it of us, and definitely doesn't care. It's why we quit smoking, it's why we drug ourselves to hot yoga last night, and really pushed through those stretches/poses, through that pain (oh, mmmm, the pain), all the while thinking of FaNtAstic fun to be had.

Is it me, or is there a lingering someone in the back of Franks mind? We are not convinced that, together, we haven't just traded one addiction for another.

Seeing as how I've taken over this shoddy blog, I've made an executive decision to blog without restraint. This means re-appearances of some of our, and your, favorite characters...and some new ones!
Speaking of; bringing Frank to work is like one big mental fiasco. Especially since TYM (Tasty Young Morsel) arrived.  No worries though; Frank knows to behave herself at work. Plus, I mean, really, the things Frank could do to that cute little puppy...we just laugh hysterically thinking about it...he'd have no idea what hit him. Mind altering references come to mind.

TOG, she's the one with the self control problems, she's the one who got us into all this trouble anyway, making me have to take over so much of her life.

In any case, even if she hasn't been told she's not allowed even a nibble of TYM, she knows she's not allowed; devotion, yes, and rationality - she is capable of it. Devotion, more than rationality, of course.
