The Kerry Stott Show Interviews Just Call Me Frank

Those familiar with our blog knows Kerry (@KerryStott), she is our friend from England, we've meet her, we've stayed at her house twice, she has guest blogged for us, she is wonderful. She is a great friend.

Kerry interviewed us a couple of months ago, for her radio show The Kerry Stott Show, and as it often does, life happened, and pushed back the broadcast date.

But at long last, here it is...in there somewhere, towards the end of her show...listen to the whole thing though, bathe in her brilliant (sexy) Northern British accent. (Listen to her radio show each week at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/eghmedia/2012/11/29/the-kerry-stott-show)

This marks our fourth podcast interview to date, and is probably our best so far (even though it sounds nothing like us, James says, and we agree). We discuss mental health, art therapy, and a bit about us, and have some laughs with Kerry.

In the end, if you have any questions just write a comment on this entry, or, you know where to find us (on Twitter, mostly). Please, no e-mails.

Pain Like Fire

Tonight we can feel every part of our body, throbbing from pain.
We tried to push it away...

From our toes to our ankles...calves and thighs. Lower back and everything from there, to the left shoulder blade. All across our shoulders, into the top of our spine and lower part of our skull. Pain like fire.

The only thing that doesn't hurt, is our brain. But if we're being honest, it's just another kind of pain that resides there.

Two more days of the week left to go. If we could sleep forever we would. Sleeping too much hurts.

Oh, how we'd love to just crawl into a corner, away from people, and their breathing, and their existence...remove a pain. Oh, how selfish that makes us.

We can only handle the mask so long, it grows heavy.

Listening to music...trying to numb our mind...ignore the pain. Pain like fire.

Day Two...

The second day of work went well. Thank goodness we had been going to the gym and doing cardio/weight lifting the last month, otherwise we'd probably be paralysed. The back pain is worse than it has been, but that's to be expected with this job.

The job we are doing, which will end in just four weeks, involves a lot of lifting, walking, and moving of stuff. It also includes having to be courteous (customer service! eeek!)...which is not always a strong point with us. But so far, we've been doing a good job. It's nice to interact with actual people again...kind of. It's nice to see we can crack jokes and be funny, and a smart ass, in more than written words. We had forgotten that we could do that.

We took a look at a house in town tonight. Total passer. Overpriced, and not in good shape.
Hopefully this weekend we will venture into the country (5+ hours away) and take a look at a 20+ acre farm, the most recently (new) posted one in our price range an din the area we would prefer.

And of course, James is still applying for work locally. Hopefully something will come up soon. His working will be good for him (mentally, physically), and good for our relationship (probably). Spending every waking minute with the same person, day in and day out, is not a healthy by any means. More on THAT...sometime soon...

Life, And Other Plans

Well, I had intended writing something worthwhile this weekend. So far that hasn't been able to happen, for various reasons.

After a couple weeks of trying to get over the heartbreak of losing the purchase of the house and property (Weeping Willow) we've been flailing each day, trying to decide what to do.

It's always been easy to figure out. Just get up and go and let's see what happens.

Despite having been married before, we were never part of the decision making as a couple.
We've been a home-owner before, and have moved all over North America, all on our own, countless times...we have always had an easy time of getting up and going.
But now we have James to consider. We can't make these decisions on our own anymore. It's harder than we thought it would be, having to make plans with another person in mind, as part of couple.

So, for now, in the attempt to at least move out of Mother's house, we are looking at real estate in the city where we are currently residing. Everything will be on the back-burner for now. Our plans to have a farm, grow a garden, live in the country away from people. Our future.

At least with our own space, our own home again, we can have a studio to paint in, and have more private space/time for writing again. And we can try to get out of the funk we keep falling into.

We start our new job tomorrow, though we will be unemployed by Christmas, at least it's an opportunity to make some extra cash while we house-hunt locally.

It's Archive Kind of Night

Starting work Monday, it will be temporary, but it will be good. It will be interesting to work again, it's been just over a year. We're looking forward to making some spare cash, for Gin, for socks, and for Christmas gifts.

There's an idea on the burner for a blog post tomorrow. A religious based one, once again. In the meantime. Archives!

Highlights of what we wrote in 2011, new stuff from 2012.,,It's almost 2013!!!

We write about sexlifemental illness/healthrelationshipscurrent eventsart (we paint)philosophy (we ponder)food (we're educated in the culinary arts), and more. There are some repeated under different subjects, because some blog entries deal with more than one subject matter.
